hi there! im a fan of your page 💕
can you give me the best studying techniques?
hi angel!! @mythicalmarion tysm for asking about study techniques 🤍 i'm so excited to share my secret methods that helped me maintain perfect grades while still having a dreamy lifestyle + time for self-care!! and thank you for being a fan of my blog, it means everything to me. <3
~ ♡ my non-basic study secrets that actually work ♡ ~

(don't mind the number formatting)
the neural bridging technique this is literally my favorite discovery!! instead of traditional note-taking, i create what i call "neural bridges" between different subjects. for example, when studying both literature + history, i connect historical events with the literature written during that time. i use a special notebook divided into sections where each page has two columns - one for each subject. the connections help you understand both subjects deeper + create stronger memory patterns!!
here's how i do it:
example:
left column: historical event
right column: literary connection
middle: draw connecting lines + add small insights
bottom: write how they influenced each other
the shadow expert method this changed everything for me!! i pretend i'm going to be interviewed as an expert on the topic i'm studying. i create potential interview questions + prepare detailed answers. but here's the twist - i record myself answering these questions in three different ways:
basic explanation (like i'm talking to a friend)
detailed analysis (like i'm teaching a class)
complex discussion (like i'm at a conference)
this forces you to understand the topic from multiple angles + helps you explain concepts in different ways!!
the reverse engineering study system instead of starting with the basics, i begin with the most complex example i can find and work backwards to understand the fundamentals. for example, in calculus, i start with a complicated equation + break it down into smaller parts until i reach the basic concepts.
my process looks like:
find the hardest example in the textbook
list every concept needed to understand it
create a concept map working backwards
study each component separately
rebuild the complex example step by step
the sensory anchoring technique this is seriously game-changing!! i associate different types of information with specific sensory experiences:
theoretical concepts - study while standing
factual information - sitting at my desk
problem-solving - walking slowly
memorization - gentle swaying
review - lying down
your body literally creates muscle memory associated with different types of learning!!
the metacognition mapping strategy i created this method where i track my understanding using what i call "clarity scores":
level 1: can recognize it
level 2: can explain it simply
level 3: can teach it
level 4: can apply it to new situations
level 5: can connect it to other topics
i keep a spreadsheet tracking my clarity levels for each topic + focus my study time on moving everything to level 5!!
the information architecture method instead of linear notes, i create what i call "knowledge buildings":
foundation: basic principles
first floor: key concepts
second floor: applications
top floor: advanced ideas
roof: real-world connections
each "floor" must be solid before moving up + i review from top to bottom weekly!!
the cognitive stamina training this is my absolute secret weapon!! i use a special interval system based on brain wave patterns:
32 minutes of focused study
8 minutes of active recall
16 minutes of teaching the material to my plushies
4 minutes of complete rest
the specific timing helps maintain peak mental performance + prevents study fatigue!!
the synthesis spiral evolution this method literally transformed how i retain information:
create main concept spirals
add branch spirals for subtopics
connect related concepts with colored lines
review by tracing the spiral paths
add new connections each study session
your notes evolve into a beautiful web of knowledge that grows with your understanding!!
these methods might seem different from typical study advice, but they're based on how our brains actually process + store information!! i developed these through lots of research + personal experimentation, and they've helped me maintain perfect grades while still having time for self-care, hobbies + fun!!
sending you the biggest hug + all my good study vibes!! remember that effective studying is about working with your brain, not against it <3
p.s. if you try any of these methods, please let me know how they work for you!! i love hearing about your study journeys!!
xoxo, mindy

Book Publishing Resources
Well, since a few people said they were interested and/or that posting about it on here occasionally was a decent idea, here we go!
I'm MC Calvi, a freelance editor specializing in self-help, psychology, spirituality, paganism, workbooks, and LGBTQ books.
You can find out more about me at my website, where I also offer free twenty-minute book/publishing consultations, in addition to regular editing services.
I am also now offering some pay-what-you-can resources on my website and on Gumroad. I'm committed to offering pay-what-you-can resources because the odds are already so stacked against marginalized authors, and publishing shouldn't be pay to win.
I have two new booklets I'm actually super happy with! They both draw on my eight years of experience in the publishing industry to give authors a leg up.
And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming as I hit "publish" on another good news post!
#Also if you're not interested but still want to help/support me#it would actually be super helpful if you reblogged this#because having my website link in more places will help boost my ranking in search engines#I promise not to post about this often#like we're talking less than once a month#I'm here to spread good news! not to spam my stuff!#and everything I do post will be tagged with#my editing#in case you want to filter#book editing#publishing#publishing tips#book publishing#indie author#self publishing#not news

Hello! I adore your art, and I was wondering if I could ask you a question:
How do you come up with your designs? They are so pretty, especially Eddie and James ♡♡
I'm asking this because I'm having trouble creating designs for both Gordon and James for my AU, Hope.
Thank you for seeing this, I wish you a splendid day/night! :3
Why hello!!!
Oh gee I would ramble alot in this
Before I make a design, I like to list things that I like about them, their hcs, their ethnicity, and their primary colors
For example, Edward's primary color is blue, but he as a character is a kind and soft soul, in my hc his patience thins faster in adults, so a combination of white and red is a great indicator of this, The red being on his Tie and hair tie so it doesn't overpower the other colors.
My James is the one that's a little complicated, mainly because he's more based on his ethnicity, but him being a vainy, self-centered and show-offy means he likes to stand out, he likes being in the center of attention, so gold is the next best option, but for my James because he have aspects of him that is more cozy (he likes cooking, making clothes and learning languages), earthy Brown is used to support the bright red, that also helps with tuning down his personality a bit.
And next, are Shapes!
Again, their personality plays a big part, in Designing it's a factor that you would want to show your character's personality through their design, The three pillars of Round, Square, and Triangle Aspects plays a huge role.
If you see here, My Edward has a more fluffy, friendly look to it, with a hint of an old soul, and a fire that had died out, his design is rounded.
The same with my James, he has more edge, a sharper touch than Edward!
Appearance is also important, wether you go hand to hand by giving them buffers like a literal anthropomorphic trains, mecha, or more human etc, appearance is an indicator.
You might make them all have the same uniforms because they're a worker, but giving (for example) Gordon square glasses, then combining it with his basely square body type, can indicate he's a strict person, so on.
My James has alot in his design
Golden details in his clothing, Brown as a secondary color, darker red on his coat so that it doesn't clash with the main red in his outer, earrings and lip piercing indicating he loves accessories to support/show off his appearance, the moles I give him for that beauty marks, the Batik on his coat to represent his proudness of his home country, the coat that he make himself, he wears make up to touch up his appearance.
Alot can go on in a design, Mine is not God-Tier level designing, and I'm not an extremely experienced character designer, but these are the indicators I usually do whenever I make my designs.
In simple terms, list what you want to have in your engine design, and build it off from there, this is to prevent overcrowdedness.
And that's all! Thank you for the ask!
You don't have to follow it step by step, be as comfortable as you like, these are just factors and tips to help in designing🩵
Hope it helps!!!

05-06-2025
Woke up at 07:00, had breakfast, did my skincare, cleaned my room and then revised the parallel computing flashcards.
Also studies some new German words which actually were quite difficult.
Then I discovered that the 40+ slides of the first week (which I missed) were not all the first week’s material 😭 there’s like four more packs of slides (60+ pages each) on git, Linux, LaTex and something that I don’t remember.
I am really committed to these courses but the amount of material sometimes feels a little too much 🤯
Hopefully today’s C++ class is not too hard

Decided to draw him in my style since I'm still struggling with the show's style, heh. I should probably sit down to do a proper study one of these days. But I'm happy with how this turned out! Still getting the hang of using an iPad (I was gifted one in my art absence on here, so no more phone drawing for me unless I'm posting old stuff).
I also have a doodle page that I did before this, and a comic:
Image #1 text:
"Okay, either Sixer used his nerd brain to make some science glasses, or all those punches ta the head are finally catching up to me."
*Can almost see clearly.*
*Gave him my astigmatism*
*Drew him in my style*
Image #2
"???"
"You forgot the eight, Sixer."
"Oh, thank you, Stanley!"
"Wait, WHAT."

SKILL UNLOCKED, KNITTING ABILITY LEVELED UP
So I've been knitting a fair bit as of late, all sorts of shenanigans and funky little things and a thousand fancy plans. Only some stuff finished thus far, but a fair bit of learning new building blocks going on.
And in a fit of pique while trying to get some ridiculously tiny dense pointy picots out of a purlwise cable cast on base, being mad that my normal purling (wrapping the yarn counter-clockwise) made the yarn have to cross SO FAR to get back up to the needle, I just...crossed the yarn up clockwise instead, and it was so much better. Distracted from the picot situation by how well it worked, I wondered why it's not the norm, did a quick search, and...
Found I had accidentally stumbled upon combination knitting? Which (for flat stockinette and the like) involves purling clockwise, and then knitting through the back loop to untwist those stitches. And it has FIXED my purl tension! The left side of my flat stockinette no longer gains a giant, sad loop! (Hell, I think that selvedge might even be neater than the right side now.) And I still don't necessarily like knitting ribbing, or how it looks vs. other, funkier options. But a quick test of normal vs. combination ribs side-by-side? Hot damn, that combo rib looks GOOD.
...Now, to get back to seeing if I can wrangle those picots to do what I want, without resorting to smaller needles...
#knitting#combination knitting#I already often swap out increases/decreases for different ones I like better#what's a little extra purl (and inc/dec) funk to deal with#this happy accident on top of all the lovely tips and tricks and techniques I've learned from sites like nimble-needles#I'd also recently researched things like stacked increases/decreases (which have fun 3d potential)#and scalloped edges/making wide horizontal holes without CO/BO#and came up with an idea for a half-flat i-cord by purling the first stitch#which I plan to use to design a tiny snake pattern#(the nimble-needles alternate curly i-cord by slipping a stitch here and there is still a favorite)#(as is m1bl central double increase)#(and centered double decrease my beloved)#(and lifted increases my other beloved)#...anyway I'm learning lots of knitting things#and designing stuff in over-engineered ways#but unwittingly tripping into combination knitting has been INSTANT GOLD#...though I prefer knitting in the round/seamless whenever I can#so we'll see how often I get to use it#I might post pics of some things I've made soon-ish?#but so much is still in the design phase so it may be a bit

I like to think that when the batfamily inevitably runs out of money and jobless Bruce, Tim, and Dick* find themselves in financial need, Steph reveals that she's made thousands of dollars taking odd jobs around Gotham City that we just never saw bc Steph hasn't been in a comic for months. Nobody checked in on her and while they weren't looking she made 6 grand babysitting and playing piano at a local theatre. Bruce has to grovel for enough money to buff out a scratch on the batmobile and Steph is revelling in it. This is the closest she's ever going to get to being a supervillain
*(Cass and Jason don't need money to survive on account of being homeless as kids + Babs funds Cass' basic needs and Damian is on his mom's payroll, same w/ duke even if it's obvs not al ghul money)
#ramblings of a lunatic#dc comics#dc#stephanie brown#bruce wayne#tim drake#dick grayson#batfamily#...#wayne family adventures#that seems like something that could happen over there lmao#i already said babysitting and playing piano at a local theatre (NEVER FORGET STEPH CANONICALLY TOOK UP PIANO AGAIN. BATGIRLS 18)#but i can also picture her doing other odd jobs#harper teaches her some basic electrical engineering tips and Steph takes a couple jobs with her for some extra cash#in batgirl 2009 she was working off her tuition by working at her school library so maybe she can do something like that too as well#i like to imagine that off screen steph will work a job for a week then get paid then get fired bc she lets her vigilante life take over#meanwhile Tim's been a dilettant on his houseboat and dick has the leftovers of what alfred gave to him which he gave to charity(?)#and bruce has just been funnelling his last remaining dollars into batman until one day his bat bank account hits negative $50#bruce has been begrudgingly letting Talia pay his rent and groceries for the past few months (damian had to cooerce him into it)#anyway i wish they did more w broke Batman. not that bruce cant survive w/o money but hes usually like. in the wilderness in those scenarios#not a city that i just KNOW has an incredibly fucked up economic situation. i bet it costs $1.95 for bottled water in gotham#anyway. bad headcanons <3

How To Learn Math for Machine Learning FAST (Even With Zero Math Background)
I dropped out of high school and managed to became an Applied Scientist at Amazon by self-learning math (and other ML skills). In this video I'll show you exactly how I did it, sharing the resources and study techniques that worked for me, along with practical advice on what math you actually need (and don't need) to break into machine learning and data science.

As someone who's looking to pursue engineering, is there anything you would have told your younger self before applying for engineering?
Hi, thanks for the ask! I could go on the whole day about this. There are a lot of things I would say to my younger self, but I think one or two things are at the top of the list. First, I feel like you should always try to remember what you're there for, why you chose this path, because it does get tough. It's hard to romanticize the study when you are knee-deep into abstract derivations and concepts.
I feel like I lost myself a bit at the start due to that, and I let procrastination and self-doubt take control of my actions. In order to avoid it, find side projects you are passionate about, participate as much as you can in lectures, work sessions, etc. Ask questions, read into the material, don't be a passive student. Stay involved, disciplined, up to date. Not only this will help you have good results, but will help you keep motivated. Cramming sometimes is needed, but should be avoided. Furthermore, extracurricular projects will help you apply the concepts you are learning in class into something fun and tangible. It will help you remind yourself why you are there!
Finally, everyone there is doubting themselves. Trust me. A lot of - if not most - of engineering students suffer at some point from imposter syndrome. I was a bit victim of that at some point. I could pass my classes and understand the concepts, but I was always scared of not being able to properly apply them in a real-life situation, or a project. But trust me, you are not the only one. Trust your skills, don't feel ashamed to take a bit more time to understand certain things. There will be math and physics geniuses at your classes, but that's not a good representation of what most engineers are like. Most just rely on hard work and repetition to understand things, and that's totally fine.
Like I say, I could go on about this all day. So if you have any other specific questions, please let me know! I am happy to help. And good luck!

Hallo, aka!! Just wondering, can you give me some motivation/encouragement to write, please? I have many, many ideas, but I can never get them down on paper >-<
Currently, I have nineteen (yes, I counted) different fics to write and idk where to begin lol ^^"
Much thanks, in advance :))
You can do it!! >u<
If by ‘can never get them down on paper’ you mean ‘can’t sit down to write it out’, I recommend jotting them down somewhere so you can remember them always! Just simple details will do. I have a document filled with thousands of words of just ideas, so I can always revisit when I get re inspired about it :]
As someone who also has a problem with starting too many fics, I get it <o< just remember that any amount of writing, posted or not, finished or not, is still valuable! You’re writing something you enjoy and you’re getting writing experience out of it /w\
If you want a tip from a fellow ‘too many fics’ sufferer (lol), pick one that you have most inspiration on/is easiest to write, preferably the shortest to finish. Because being able to finish one thing is satisfying and make it feel easier to continue to other things :]
Hope you much success in your writing journey ^u^
#writing#inbox#i dont know if you wanted motivation only or also tips so i gave both#what matters is that you keep writing >3<#right now i have a bajillion wips too (years old ones included. crying)#but when youre stuck i find writing the most fun/shortest can get your writing engines started#good luck!
